What is iWorker?

I came across this incredible social enterprise toward the end of 2023. Things were tough and funds were tight. I needed some help finalising resources, setting up email campaigns and general admin assistance. Having trawled through other outsourcing sites before unsuccessfully, I wasn't in a position to pay someone locally and I desperately needed help. Somehow I stumbled across this social enterprise and I was hooked from the get go. Enter iWorker!

Their slogan tugged my heartstrings:

We help you find and hire talented remote assistants from Venezuela and other countries in crisis.

And where iWorker is different from so many other outsourcing outfits I've come across, is that they are a social enterprise focused on not just finding, but matching talented workers from countries in crisis where the work really matters.

Most of their team come from Venezuela, a country in the midst of a full-scale economic collapse.

Co-founded by a Venezuela immigrant who fled to Argentina with his wife and a baby on the way, iWorker helps create win/win outcomes.  I get to hire a bilingual virtual assistant and get on top of my work outputs, and the work provides life-changing opportunities for those I work with.

Oh, and the best part is, you can try it for free - they will gift you 5 hours, and then once you sign up, you can ask for 3 bios, addressing the skill set you're after, book a call to see if it's a good fit, and pay as you go! No locking into contracts, and full access to the data base.

I love the Mission and Goals of iWorker "Created as a response to the Venezuelan refugee crisis, iWorker’s mission is to help compassionate entrepreneurs hire talented remote workers from countries in crisis. Most of our team, 65% of whom are women, support multiple family members with the income they get from working online.

iWorker was founded to do something real and direct about the Venezuelan crisis, where nearly 90% of the population lives in poverty and faces regular shortages of food and medicine.

The goal? To generate stable, well-paid, dignified work for talented Venezuelan professionals. iWorker has since expanded out to include remote workers from other countries in crisis, like Uganda and Nicaragua.

To date, iWorker has helped generate over 5 million dollars of revenue for its workers."

Seriously, what's not to love about that? AND they have an affiliate program, which I am unashamedly happy to promote. I'm not looking for the kickback, though I'm happy to receive it. I truly love knowing that I'm in a win/win dynamic, helping improve the lives of others, and I'm getting stuff done. You know, like stuff that's been sitting on my hard drive for decades, now being actioned! This year I'll have online courses happening, eBooks on Amazon, email campaigns chugging along and expanding my reach in ways I've only dreamed of.

Something else they are BIG on, is being clear about investing time getting to know your VA. They strongly encourage taking time from the get go, to set up video training calls, create Loom snips and whatever else could be helpful to strenghten connections and bridge cultural divides.

I am in awe of the relationship I'm creating with my VA. She has become an integral team member and I'm delighted with what we have achieved in a short amount of time. Ever the professional, she has even agreed to do 6am (her time) Team meetings, to match my available time! Her dedication and diligence is inspiring and I am confident we are in for a very long ride. I can't give her full time hours yet, so if you're looking for someone who can set up and manage systems, create content in canva and email campaigns, is a quick learner, honest as the day is long and fun to work with, let me know. I have her permission to share her details.

Alternatively, feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions. I can't guarantee I can answer them, but I can assure you, there is a willing team of workers both administratively managing iWorker, and a team of happy workers waiting for opportunities.
